Dream Factory,
Growing into the Cradle of Disabled Artists in Korea
The Gyeonggi Libera Orchestra is Korea’s first talent-development orchestra for people with disabilities,
providing focused training and diverse performance experiences over a two-year period to support individuals
in growing as professional disabled artists.
Targeting registered residents with disabilities aged 19 and above in Gyeonggi Province, the orchestra offers
weekly professional instruction and aims to become a skilled ensemble supported and enjoyed by the local
community. The inaugural ceremony was held on December 3, 2024, in celebration of the International Day of
Persons with Disabilities.
Breaking away from the perception of disability as a limitation, the Gyeonggi Libera Orchestra selects talented members with potential to develop their skills and pride. Through a structured system that supports member activities and steady growth, as well as collaborations with other Gyeonggi arts groups and various orchestras, members gain extensive performance experience.
Founded with the goal of creating an orchestra supported and shared by the residents of Gyeonggi, the
Gyeonggi Libera Orchestra seeks to move beyond a passive audience and become a communicative, participatory
ensemble.
Residents can support the orchestra through donations on various platforms, participate in composition and
ensemble activities, or contribute their talents—such as photography, videography, or volunteering—through the
orchestra’s supporter programs. Together, they can celebrate and support the artistic activities and growth of
people with disabilities in Gyeonggi.
A unique and new harmony in the world has begun.
